Ed was taken aback when Alfons claimed that not remembering rocketry wasn't a big deal. He had to remind himself that it was the castle's fault, not his, and that there was always a chance that the castle might later give those memories back. So he forced a smile and nodded. "Well, we'll see if things change later. But you're right... no sense in getting upset about it, right?"

Yet Alfons had seemed to come to some upsetting realization, standing and claiming he had to leave. "Alfons, wait! You don't have to leave..."

Unless they were making him uncomfortable. Dammit, Ed thought. For a moment there, I actually thought that things... were going okay.
