[Someone's vaguely caught onto all the hype about vampire trouble lately, and since she's never been one for research or hashing these kinds of things out, she's decided she'd rather just patrol late at night and see if she can catch any of them before there are any victims. She's picked the town, because logic dictates one would try to pick up victims away from the people who are more likely able to stop you.

She's more than a little annoyed, that it takes this, to make her feel more comfortable here, for her to feel something familiar, like from home. Of course, now that you want someone to commit some dastardly acts so you can beat the crap out of them for it...All the bad guys decide to stay home and maniacally laugh in their dungeons and plot. Some company would not be amiss]

[Oh that doesn't take her too long to notice at all, since she doesn't carry any light herself. And you're the first person she's seen out all night. She's not exactly sure what this...Floating thing is, but who knows what evil mischief he could get up to in the time it takes her to run back to the library and grab someone to research him? She'll just hang back until she's fairly sure she can follow him without being noticed]

[they make it about three blocks, before he turns around and looks at her - she might mistake him for a demon, since his skin's a bit on the gold side, his hair is white, and his eyes aren't exactly what you'd call normal - yellow, with pupils that'd look catlike from a distance. he raises an eyebrow at her calmly, from within the shadows of his hood]

[And all she thought to bring with her was a stake, thanks to warnings about Vampires and no other kind of creature, and if he is a demon that's going to be utterly useless. This was just poor planning, even for her. Still, she drops back into a defensive stance, she can improvise, if she has to]

Simply acquainting myself with the village. [a thin trace of a smile creeps onto his face at the sight of that defensive pose, and he holds up his free hand.]

Somehow, I doubt I am the first person here to feel the effects of insomnia.
