[The cemetery, now that it's nearing the end of the festivities, looks a little different. Decorative throw pillows, if you didn't leave any customary ones for your dearly departed, have been provided for all of the graves, sitting neatly near the flowers and other decorations and offerings. A table has been placed next to the entrance, an imitation of the more personal shrines, should people wish to make any more grand gestures before the evening is through.

The cemetery itself, in a blank spot has a large spread out picnic blanket and a battery run boom box, playing slightly uplifting music to fill up the background, a few baskets are next to it, for people to enjoy food and drink and dancing for a few hours, before the dead are compelled to come sit on their graves

[Amy's already nodding, and scooting back a little to make room for both the Doctor and the tea tray]

There's always room for you, Cricket Boy.

Excellent! [and he'll set the tray down before taking a seat - he doesn't want to spill it all, of course.]

I must say, it's good to see you two in good spirits, again. How've you been keeping, since that mess with the Meta?

[he'd been budging over along with Amy, and now that they're resettled he's looking at the tea tray with a certain amount of longing--but at the Doctor's question, his eyes flicker down to Amy's hand resting in her lap, and the ring on the fourth finger]

Fair enough, really ... you know, all the usual bits to do around the castle. Deal with whatever the castle decides to do, and--live. But ... [clears his throat lightly, nudging Amy and smiling almost conspiratorially] I think Amy might have something better to add.

[Amy simply grins and, with a hint of uncharacteristic shyness, holds out her left hand so the Doctor can get a look at the replacement engagement ring Rory gave her]

[identity profile] cricketycricket.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's a lovely ring, Amy. Where did you --

[OH WAIT RIGHT, HUMANS, RINGS, RIIIIIGHT. when it clicks, he just BEAMS]

How wonderful! Congratulations, both of you...!

derp I need to hit F5 moar

[cue Rory beaming right back and ducking his head as he drops Amy's hand to put his arm around her shoulders, looking at her like she's made him the happiest man in the universe. With the paint on his face, he looks patently ridiculous]

Can you believe it? She's still going to marry me even though I'm plastic.

[also plain on his face is the palpable relief at the Doctor's enthusiasm. There's one hurdle crossed, for him anyway. He'd sort of half-expected the Doctor--either or both of them--to put his foot down and insist that Amy couldn't marry a former demon]

You'll ... you'll come, won't you? If we have any sort of ceremony?

[identity profile] too-fairytale.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
[if either of them tried to do such a thing, there would be A Misunderstanding. Amy looks expectantly at the Doctor]

You--well, the older you--said something about giving me away, once.

[she says it with an affectionate roll of her eyes, but it's obvious that the offer actually meant a lot to her (now that it's not making her nervous)]

/can remember tag order after sleeping, rly

[identity profile] cricketycricket.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[well, he looks just as ridiculous in his own paint, so they're even, right? then again, the Doctor's probably more used to looking ridiculous than Rory is]

Somehow, yes, I think I can wrap my head around it. [he winks at Amy - after all, it's not the demon bit that hung him up so much as how they handled the whole affair. BUT. they are only human, and therefore stupid, and you have to let humans be humans when this sort of thing goes down]

And of course, of course I'll come. As though I'd miss such a thing! The giving away, though ... I think I might leave that up to my other self to decide. You're his companions, after all.

/pets you gently

[identity profile] nurse-boy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh, Doctor. Just you wait. Your next self sets the gold standard for ridiculous-looking. Rory, meanwhile, is still looking relieved, and happier than he has in months. Faintly, he wonders if the Doctors knows just how estranged he and Amy had become there for awhile]

Well, that's--that's good. That's really good. [and he means it] You're such a, um, big part of our lives now that really, it'd be weird for you--any of you--not to be there. Ahem.

[and he clears his throat a bit awkwardly, because that's as close as he'll probably get to breaking some sort of invisible Man Code and admitting that he actually likes and respects the Doctor]

[identity profile] too-fairytale.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Amy fairly beams, hearing Rory express that sentiment, though her smile dims faintly at the mention of their "own" Doctor]

Have you seen him at all, lately?

[identity profile] cricketycricket.livejournal.com 2010-11-09 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard him puttering about - he's off in his own TARDIS, I should think, exploring about. I wouldn't be surprised if she keeps rearranging herself just to play a game on him. It's happened before.
