013 ✘ GROUP TRAINING LOG | action
[Danger Room filter]
[Hope you guys are ready to get woken up at the butt crack of dawn if you want to get down here on time. Stumbling in late's a bad idea. Logan's down here smashing up some drones already to 'make sure the thing's warmed up' when the first arrivals trickle in, so the door into the actual Danger Room floor has the red warning light up that there's a simulation in progress. Once he spots people up in the booth though, he'll make short work of it and head on up there.
He surveys the arriving group with heavy skepticism. He's still not sure this is the best damn idea, but at the same time, he supposes it's something to do.
He won't admit to himself that he's just thinking about how much of a fail!teacher it was back home, and wondering how in the hell he's supposed to do this without Storm or the Professor or somebody around who knows what they're doing.]
[ooc; Wanted to get this up before I went off to work! Please wait til sections are up below to tag in. FEEL FREE TO THREADJACK each other, posting order is not locked down so just go nuts. Logan's individually tailored a program to each of your abilities to get a feel for what you can do. The programs are running concurrently in the room at the same time though, so you can end up helping each other out, or having someone get in your way. While this is a simulation, the Danger Room uses force fields around the holographic 'objects' you encounter to give them tangibility and resistance. On top of this, some of the shit IS real and part of the room: moving panels, flamethrowers, some of the drones, collapsing walls, etc. Feel free to have your character encounter whatever you want: Logan's trying to make it challenging for them, but not looking to kill anybody. Yet.]

ARRIVAL & GREETING
For those who don't know how this thing works, you're gonna wanna treat this like it's REAL. This isn't some kinda game, and the Room's not playin' around, so if you treat it like it is, you're gonna get your ass whupped. Don't come cryin' to me about it.
[Oh right, Kitty told him to be nice.] I'm Logan, and it looks like I'm runnin' this show today.
Keep your head in the game, and nobody's gonna get hurt.
Too bad.Any questions?

She left and returned, doing so a couple of times to fetch the people that didn't know where the danger room was
And then introduction's began, and she gave him a sort of unimpressed look when he started, dropping it at his kinder words. They were a good try ]
Just what you're doing - small groups or everyone at once? [ This would be interesting. So many different abilities? He had his work cut out for him, she could only imagine what this would be like. Guess this was one of the things Xavier had figured out a long time ago ]

[Jono walks up, fashionably late as is typical of him, but he's definitely ready for "work", if his gameface is any indication.]
Probably should find out what everyone can do though, so we know what t'expect.

He doesn't see anything wrong with the introduction. That's about how he would have done it.]
Yeah. ...Is it going to work right this time?

[Zuko is just so super reassuring. It's in his nature.]

You can defend yourself if it does, right?
/threadjack
It'll be fine. It may be called "The Danger Room", but yer only ever in danger if y'don' pay attention t'wha's goin' on. Th' whole point o' th' thing is t'get us t'work as a team, which means lookin' out fer each other. Think y'can handle that?

I can handle it. [ She gives Jono a smile. ] I didn't know you were going to be here.

Katara will calmly and patiently listen to Logan's introduction, and she shakes her head mostly to herself at the call for questions -- but she can't help shooting a dark look Zuko's way and muttering, low enough just for him to hear:]
Who invited you?
no subject
Me? I was here first. What are you doing here?
no subject
[Oh, she's still steamed at Zuko, and moves to walk past him -- slamming his shoulder with hers as she does.]

You just watchin' this round, or you gonna throw your tags in too?

I thought it better if I just observe for now, maybe get an idea of what everyone's capable of. I'm going to start training myself a bit, so that I'm not quite so useless in a fight.
You seem to have a handle on this end of things, so unless someone needs help mastering their ability, I'll leave it to you.

Oh, I wouldn't go that far, but if I understand the nature of this simulation correctly, all a man in a wheelchair will do is be in the way. I'd rather our students to have the battlefield to themselves. I can do my most effective teaching if they don't have to think about me being right there.

[He just has to take this rare opportunity to get to razz the Professor all the time.]
no subject
Sounds good. Can we begin?
[if she's going to get up at this hour, she might as well get as much use out of the remaining three-quarters of the day as possible...]
