sixteenth rune :: death

 [Koltira has waited for and wanted this moment ever since the Light-forsaken castle stole him away from Andorhal.  The battle today is not like the last attempt; this time Arthas is separated from his pack; this time his demon-woman will not come to rescue him.  This time Koltira will not relent until either he or Arthas lies defeated and broken on the ground.

The others have argued for redemption.  The woman, Jaina Proudmoore, maintains her faith--to little good, in Koltira's mind.  She is not the only one who seems reluctant to deliver swift justice upon Arthas, however, and as Koltira draws Byfrost from his back he considers the great irony of the situation.  The castle took him from imprisonment at Sylvanas's hands, but here, in this time and reality, she is one of the few who understands that Arthas must not be afforded mercy.  The traitor prince has done nothing to deserve such tender consideration.  If Koltira could, he would destroy Arthas permanently; obliterate him; annihilate him.  

Such options were, unfortunately, not available to him in Paradisa.  Still, their plan would ensure deep suffering on Arthas's part, and Koltira supposes he can live with that.]

[Well, for now there isn't much that she can do about that ice -- other than hoping a few zombies on fire might melt a little on it, but for now she'll focus on zipping around some more and blowing up some more of these Horde guys to keep the path clear for the people headed straight for Arthas.]

[As Jr was kind enough to clear a path for them, Arthur only has to take care of the ghoul directly in his vicinity, before he's clear for the moment. Jr was right to think that Arthur would appreciate him using his powers so much, so it's upwards that he turns his attention]

Hey! Ghost boy! [He's jabbing his sword at the ice in a clear demonstration, in case his voice isn't carrying far enough] Blast the ice!

[Danny doesn't take the effort to respond, but immediately begins building a huge ball of ectoplasm in his hands. He turns and claps his hands together, sending all the energy out in an explosive blast aimed directly at the ice.]

[As a death knight himself, he's not terribly bothered by the ice, though it does make his steps more careful--and he can't let himself pay attention to any of the other shenanigans going down--including and especially the dog with the car--as he slaughters his way through Arthas's ghouls, silent and single-minded. When the explosion offers him a clear shot, he rushes forward, his runeblade alight with power. The ground beneath him blackens and dies as he moves, and ghostly hands reach up, grabbing at Invincible's legs. Koltira swings the sword, trying to dismount the horse's rider.]
