[sounding awed and wistful]

A teacher.

...Is anyone else happy with their new occupation?

[Prongs]

Are you all right?
[identity profile] alwaysmoony.livejournal.com
[written slowly and carefully]

Would the clinic like any help? I'm no Healer, but I know some basic spells, and I'm quite practised at them.

I can also help defend the patients, if it's ever needed.

[his voice is quiet, slightly hesitant]

James? I have a question for you.
[identity profile] alwaysmoony.livejournal.com
Protego.

[the spell, sharp and low, is the first thing he utters when he appears in the lobby; he's in a slight, tense crouch, wand held before him, obscured just slightly by the rippling of the invisible barrier

for a moment, the journal records only breathing, footsteps, as he observes his sudden surroundings; then it's finally lifted, flipped through, and he puts his back to the wall as he speaks]

What is this? [his voice is quiet, wary; his gaze switches constantly from the book in his hand to the long line of doors on each side of him]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[You may ask yoruself why there's a pile of books on the floor in the library.

You may doubletake at yourself and go 'lol, brain' and wander off. But, if you don't, you might notice that there's a BOY behind that stack of books, contentedly reading about various magical creatures and such.]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[Remus's journal happens to be open in Sirius's room. Why? NONE MAY KNOW. But it picks up the following conversation.]

Sirius, honestly, I'm fine. Stop staring at me like I'm going to break at any second.

Stop trying to get up. You need your rest. [DX]

You don't think you're overreacting just the tiniest bit?

No. I'll tie you down if I have to, Moony. Don't think I won't.
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[...So.

Inside Remus's lovely Shrieking Shack substitute, there is a werewolf, generally having a ball and tearing it up.

With all the violent implications thereof!

Outside, it is luckily silent and such, thanks to the wonders of soundproofing. And. Such. Wouldn't do to have people investigating, after all. Which makes for ideal waiting conditions!

...Or sommat.]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
Who: Remus Lupin
What: Holed up in the library. Open to... well, whoever, to be honest, though preferably of the 'knows Remus already' persuasion.
When: All day Tuesday!
Where: Various bits of the library.
Rating: NO IDEA.

[Things Remus does not expect when he is half asleep and happens to roll over: THINGS ON HIS CHEST ROLLING WITH HIM.

After a moment of sleepy ??? muttering, Remus manages to sort out what's happened and says, in a very definitely girl-voice:]
Oh, yes, Castle, thank you for this.

[SIRIUS WILL NEVER LET HIM LIVE THIS DOWN.]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[They're EVERYWHERE. Remus does not feel this bodes well at ALL, and despite them being cute and purring (two aspects which do NOT actually endear them to him, seeing as how they share those attributes with members of the feline species, which are equally as useless as far as Remus is concerned).

Where was he? Oh yes. The multiplying likewise doesn't bode well, which means Remus is trying out some lovely spells for de-pestifying his room. They're not really working.

And did we mention Remus appears to be allergic to the bundles of joy? Oh yes.

So, from Remus's journal comes the sounds of someone intermittantly sneezing and reciting spells and generally being MISERABLE.]

Day 2

Apr. 15th, 2009 08:37 pm
[identity profile] whistleandwork.livejournal.com
[Problems have solutions. Finding those solutions is simply a matter of systemic elimination.

That's Olimar's logic for wandering off by himself. Should he have weapons? Armor? No, his mind assures him, the brochures said this island full of dinosaurs is "perfectly safe and fun for the whole family". There must be some other reason castle residents are getting injured. Surely it would be easier to determine what is happening if restore the electrical power were restored! And if Olimar could cobble his space ship back together in unknown wilds, perhaps he can be of some help with Jurassic Park's outlying systems.

He starts getting a dreadful sinking feeling, as he walks through the forest and the electric fence doesn't appear. His sense of direction must be skewed. If only he had his space suit and a working radar uplink! Olimar turns back, scutinizing every remembered step of his journey so far, noticing that this human body appears to tremble more than his usual Hocotatian form during times of mild stress. An endocrine response, most likely. How odd.

He doesn't notice the crunching leaf litter until it's too late. Olimar nearly walks into a massive hind leg, and he looks up and up and up at the king of dinosaurs, tyrannosaurus rex.

In the moment Olimar begins to run, and the T-Rex begins crashing after him, the journal falls unnoticed from his pocket. It lands closed.]

O-Oh, dear Fates above! Help! Anyone?

[He may not have his space suit's vocal sound enhancements, but Olimar can do this even in a human body. As the thunderous footsteps gain on him, he heaves in a breath and whistles, piercingly loud.]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[The following is hexed all to hell. Anyone reading it will see what appears to be an untitled list of the following wizarding candies (which, by the way, anyone is welcome to tag in on, if you really like lists or something): chocolate frogs, blowing gum, fizzing whizbees, and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.]

[And lo, from Remus's room comes the sounds of a guitar playing.

Remus doesn't PLAY guitar.]

I see a bad moon rising,
I see trouble on the way,
I see earthquakes and lightning,
I see bad times today.

Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life.
There's a bad moon on the rise!

I hear hurricanes a-blowing,
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing,
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

[GUITAR BREAK WHOO]
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[And lo, there are the dictated sounds of a Moony muttering to himself and stumbling through his room, occasionally hitting furniture until he finds his desk and wand.]

Lumos.

[And then there was light, courtesy of maaaagic.]

Is this castle-induced or a naturally occuring phenomenon?
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[Remus has spent a good bit of time in the library, exploring the town, and reading into some backlogs. He's gathered a few useful things about this place and its inhabitants, the most useful of which now is that magic, while not exactly commonplace, is known and more or less accepted as just another part of the diverse residents' culture.]

I'm not planning to go into the medical profession, but I am willing to lend a hand where I can if anyone needs a Healer.
[identity profile] not-lupine.livejournal.com
[After a moment of extremely puzzled silence, Remus’s journal picks up a puzzled-but-wary voice asking] James? Sirius? This isn’t a joke of yours, is it? Because while it’s very impressive, it’s not really up to your usual standards of comedic value.

[And lo, he finds the journal and does what a Moony does best: he reads. For a good many minutes, until he thinks got some sort of handle on what he’s reading and what it means and then makes a very small Moony-sound that means, approximately, ‘uh-oh’.]

[Faintly:]
–That’s unexpected.

[After thus, the deluge panic.]

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
