Honestly, that sounds even better than what we went through. It was pretty harrowing and exhausting. Do you want a recap?

It's nothing too terrible, at least for me. I'm used to it.

Basically, we got divided up into three groups. One on a cruise ship, one on a pirate ship nicknamed the Jolly Roger, and one aboard a pirate ship nicknamed the Typhoon. I was on the Typhoon, and we all sailed across various islands with different points of interest. Our group, however, found the most trouble and had to fend off things like harpies and sea witches and rival pirates.

Eventually, a group of about fifteen from the Jolly Roger were taken prisoner by admirals of the Navy; they were made up of people from the castle on losses. We from the Typhoon broke them out from the Navy's base and we wound up back here, finding the castle had been ransacked the entire time. I'm still wounded from the operation, as are others.

Nobody on the cruise ship received any troubles of any kind.

From what I heard, that cruise ship was quite high-tech and everywhere it stopped was beautiful and relaxing. It was my first time sailing myself, and even though I'm not so good with tech yet myself, that sounded like the better ride overall. Can't say I blame you.

My theory for a while was that us on the harsher route were to head off any danger the other routes might face; the Typhoon was filled with many capable fighters. However, after seeing the maps, our paths didn't cross at all until the end.

Then again it's the castle. It's going to do this to us. As a teacher myself, I'm beginning to wonder if there's a lesson in it for us all. Whether it's a good one or not is up for debate.

From what I hear, it's a regular event. Once a year or so at least, with smaller things in between. This was my first time, and it was jarring as expected. All we can really do is prepare and expect to wake up someplace new every day just in case.

Since my arrival in February, we've had lulls, but they don't seem to last long. Just the second we start getting complacent, it throws something at us. I wasn't even here a week or so when it started bearing down on me with some odd human holiday I am trying to forget exists.

I've been reading about the ones from Earth since Valentine's Day caught me off guard so I know what to expect. The castle seems most fond of picking holidays from there as opposed to other worlds. A lot of them seem focused on ingesting copious amounts of sugar or alcohol.

[Picking Valentine's Day when you have commitment issues and have a terrible track record with relationships is the worst.]

Though thank you for your sympathy. It's just something I'll have to adjust to here as well.

Sounds eerily similar to festivities back in Gainos, though so far the ones here have been less violent. That I'm thankful for, at least.

I hope anything I do helps as well. I'd be bad at my job if I weren't trying.

A lot of events back home were centered around fighting or war or such, so it's refreshing to see not all cultures or races conform to that. Perhaps I should spend some of the free time I have healing reading about it.

It's what a teacher does; if I've helped, then I'm doing my job. This is comforting to here after that adventure.
