Guess Halloween's always been kinda lame for me. [She hasn't had the joy of all your experience with holidays gone wrong, Buffy.]

I went to a party. [Held by a living, breathing Miss Frizzle.]

I suppose you're right. Halloween was never really a big deal in Sunnydale, either. At least it wasn't supposed to be.

Was it any good?

Not really. I didn't stay long.

I took some food and snuck out.

[She's keeping her answers short, because she's trying to feel this conversation out.]

Do you ever get... bored here, sometimes? I mean, I know that sounds ridiculous with the wishing and the ghosts but. Well. I guess from the terrible hype I heard about this place when I got here I'm a little underwhelmed.

[Bored is something that Faith is not.]

Not really. I mean, I'm not in the castle, B'. I don't handle all that daily wish crap and I sure as hell avoid all the pre-planned events.

It's probably the most freedom I've had in a while, why would I spend it cooped up in a castle?

[ That makes Buffy give off a small laugh. ]

You know, you're right. I always pictured deserving some kind of vacation, but now that I've got it, I don't want it. I miss doing things for myself. I miss slaying. [ There's a pause. She feels a ping of guilt inside of her for saying that. ]

Then do things for yourself. No one says you have to use the ghosts, B'. Hell, I'm shocked you're pro-spirit anyway.

Yep, you know me. I've always dreamed of having ghost servants.

So... you don't live in the castle, then.

[She had mentioned the non-castle part earlier, but she'll assume that once more it's Buffy not actually paying attention to her.]

Yeah, kinda moved out that first week in.

I wasn't sure if it was a permanent or temporary thing. Last time I saw you was in your room, so I figured you might have given this whole castle thing another shot.

Last time you saw me that was castle mandated. Do you honestly think I was gonna stick around the place that hijacked me into that mess?

[ Buffy thinks about that for a minute. It does make sense she wouldn't want to be in it, even if it was a giant party, nobody was paying attention to her. ]

Point taken. [ A small pause. She'd probably move out, too, but Buffy is used to having a house full of people. Being in a castle full of people kind of gives her that feeling. ]

[And that would make Faith's point even stronger since she's never been the one with the big group around her.]

That wasn't-- [ And after a long pause, she doesn't even bother. ]

Yep. Flying colors. [ And with light sarcasm aside, her tone becomes a little more serious. ] Thank you.
